CBD Oil and Anxiety

Anxiety disorder is the most common mental health conditions in the United States, affecting an estimated 31.1 percent of U.S. individuals.

The highest lifetime prevalence of any mental disease globally is anxiety disorders, contributing to high social costs and economic strain. Adverse effects and poor effectiveness are correlated with existing pharmacotherapies for anxiety disorders. The ingredient of the cannabis plant is cannabidiol (CBD), which has potential medicinal properties for different indications.

CBD interacts with the cannabinoid type 1 receptor (CB1R), the serotonin 5-HT1A receptor, and other brain receptors that control fear and anxiety-induced actions, according to the writers of a 2015 study.

The authors of the review also found preclinical and clinical evidence that established CBD as an effective treatment for numerous types of anxiety disorders, including:

  • generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)
  • post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • panic disorder (PD)
  • obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • social anxiety disorder (SAD)

70 percent of participants in the study indicated any degree of satisfaction, varying from good to exceptional, with CBD therapy. Adverse side effects, such as sedation and intense hallucinations, were experienced by just 9.9% of patients. Worsening effects were identified by a still lower part of the sample population (0.8 percent).

EnvyZen introduced wide variety of CBD products in order to help the general public in preventing or solving some of the issues.
